Liza Van der Laan
Liza Van der Laan is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agronomy at Iowa State University. She received her B.S. in Plant Biotechnology and M.S. in Breeding from Oklahoma State University. Liza started her Ph.D. in 2020 in the Soynomics group under the guidance of Dr. Danny Singh. Her research has two focus areas in soybean, the first on breeding abiotic stress tolerance and the second in the genetics and prediction of seed quality trains. These projects aim to utilize high throughput phenotyping and machine learning in breeding for the soybeans of tomorrow.
