Katy Martin Rainey
Dr. Katy Martin Rainey is a professor of soybean genetics and breeding at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She serves on the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR) Next Generation Crops Scientific Advisory Council, she is Director of the Purdue Soybean Center and she was named a Purdue University Faculty Scholar. She is the co-founder and CSO of Progeny Drone, Inc. She is entrepreneurial professor and plant breeder specializing in UAS, nutritional quality, quantitative genetics, and the soybean value chain. She develops new tools for crop research professionals, and has extensive experience in multi-state research coordination. She also advocates and advises for crop genetics and agricultural research at the national level, including recently testifying to the United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry committee.
