Li-Juan Qiu
Professor Li-Juan Qiu has been responsible for soybean germplasm collection, evaluation, and enhancement in Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing. She continuing working in this area since she obtained her Ph.D. in 1989. A series of core collections were established, which was used to develop a series of DNA chips, including ZDX, ZDX1, and ZDX2 for identifying important traits/genes and developing new lines. By built the pan-genome of wild soybeans, she could look insights into the evolution; diversity and domestication of soybean,which were listed as a milestone event of the genomic study in recent twenty years by Nature. She contributes more than 50 papers on SCI journals such as Nature Biotech, PNAS etc, New Phytologist. In 2020 and 2021 she was awarded Highly Cited Researcher by Thompson Reuters
